Buyers Market

Buyers Market

Hello Vendors!

The upcoming  PEI Buyers Market 2019 is scheduled to take place January 11, 12 with a set up day January 10. The location will be the beautiful Delta Convention Centre and we are hoping to meet our target of 50 booths. Like last year, we are again self funding the event and renting the venue, pipe and drape set up, printing of guidebooks, providing workshops, beverages, snacks and all other expenses. We are doing the best we can to provide a cost effective buyers market opportunity on PEI. We really hope you enjoy this chance to wholesale to buyers from across Atlantic Canada.

  • The pipe and drape will be 8 foot total to cover walls all on 3 sides of your booth.

  • All pipe and drape and linens will be white or light grey.

  • A skirted table will be set up for you. Size depends on what size booth you have booked:

    • Mirco booths (8x4) will have 4 foot tables.

    • Small booths (8x8) will have 6 foot tables.

    • Medium booths (8x10) will have 8 foot tables.

    • Large booths (8x16)

  • Set up will begin Thursday 9am-9pm

  • Also you can set up Friday Morning 9 am until 12 noon (show will begin at 1pm).

A new product showcase will display new product and buyers will be able to view all products during show hours. If you are interested in participating in the new product showcase please bring your product to the registration desk during set-up on Friday morning between 9am-noon.

We will be awarding two main prizes.  These are:

Exhibitors are required to staff their exhibits at all times during show hours. This is a professional trade show, and the atmosphere is different from a craft fair. It is recommended that business casual attire be worn.

If you have not attended The Buyers Market before, please be aware that it is different from a regular craft market in terms of pace. As the show is open to only wholesale buyers and not the general public, the pace and amount of traffic is different and slower than a regular bustling and sometimes crowded craft market. You will have less vendors who will stay at your booths for longer periods of time. You may wish to take something to read or a project to work on during the quieter times - but remember to stop, look up, smile and be engaged and welcoming when buyers are in your area of the show :)

Admission to the exhibition area is by registration and only bona fide retailers, wholesalers, agents or brokers of giftware, crafts, housewares and apparel are permitted entry to the show. Industry guests and guests of retailers will be permitted; please see Guest Policy (below) for details. The general public will not be permitted entry.

We have blocked off 15 guest rooms at the Delta during the event which are available at a special rate of $149.00 per night (not including tax). Please call Marriott Reservations at 1(800) 268-1133 to reserve a room, and make sure to identify yourself as part of the PEI Crafts Council, no later than Tuesday, December10, 2018.

Guests will be permitted entrance into the show when accompanied by a qualified buyer. Guests may walk the show, but may not take any written materials or enter an exhibitors booth without the exhibitor’s permission. Exhibitors are reminded that many show guests are influencing Buyers’ decision-making and should be treated accordingly.

Due to the confidential nature of wholesale pricing, exhibitors wishing to enter another exhibitor’s booth may do so only if invited. We request that all exhibitors follow this simple rule: Ask before entering. :)

We reserves the right to withdraw any product deemed inappropriate for display and to close any exhibit booth of any exhibitor for failure to observe show rules or for any action considered detrimental to the interest of the show organization or industry.

  • This is a wholesale show and is targeted for buyers only

  • It is recommended that you have an example of each type of your product. If you have different colourways of your product, feel free to bring those as well to show variation. Also one or two examples of your product will be necessary for the New Product Showcase.

  • Make sure to bring lots of advertising materials: business cards, brochures, catalogs and price-lists. Keep in mind that not everyone will buy at the show, as some prefer to gather information and decide at a later time.

  • Wholesale shows are about building relationships with buyers who may begin to purchase from you regularly later on. As a new vendor you may not receive as may orders as the established vendors, but it is a good long term investment to begin building relationships with buyers.
