Gloria Wooldridge Fine Arts

From the time she won a neighbourhood art contest at the age of six, colour has been a driving force in Gloria Wooldridge’s life. This mostly self-taught artist from Prince Edward Island transitioned from jewelry making and writing poetry to acrylic painting after an acquaintance keenly suggested she pick up a paintbrush.

Gloria is thriving under the “anything is possible” teaching and encouragement from well-known PEI artist Sandi Komst, along with training from a workshop in Nova Scotia with renowned Canadian landscape artist, Mike Svob.

Having gained the skill (that is constantly evolving) and the courage at midlife, she is boldly creating with vivid colour, determined to “translate the beauty of colour from heart to canvas” while capturing the essence of the gentle rolling hills, beaches, and water scenes of Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province.

Gloria considers her greatest title is that of “mom” to her two daughters.  She is a former board member of the PEI Crafts Council, is a juried member of the PEI Crafts Council, has been featured on the cover of The Buzz, a local monthly publication, and her work is  on display/sold at the PEI Preserve Company and Bar1911.
