Product Assessment Application

Professional Membership - requires a quality assessment of your product by your peers. Professional member ship is required to sell at the PEICC Retail Gallery and the Christmas Craft Fair.

Prior to submitting your work for the Professional Peer Assessment (Jury), take a moment to consider the following:

I am a permanent resident of Prince Edward Island (I have a PEI Health card).
I am currently producing the craft I want to sell.
I am the producer of the craft.
The craft I make is produced on PEI. 
I want to sell at the PEI Crafts Council Retail Gallery.
I want to sell at the Christmas Craft Fair.
I have sold my craft at fairs or markets.
I am a professional crafter, not a hobby crafter.

Things we look for when assessing your product:
High quality materials - understanding the materials and using them properly

Function
Improvement - improving and refining your work over time.  
High quality workmanship
Technique and Skill level
Materials and Care instructions attached to the piece
Attention to details
Consistency in production
Aesthetic sense - color form and appeal of the work. 
Authenticity of the craft.  (your personal touch)

Products we are NOT accepting for assessment:
Cricut products
Sublimation printed products
CNC machined products
Laser cut products
3d Printed products
Wood burning, or pyrography
Diamond Dotz
AI Art
Resin Pour
Fine Art

New Applicants

Applicants to the Craft Professional Membership must complete the Jurying Process. All work submitted must be made by the Applicant, must have been produced within the last 12 months (exceptions apply for large pieces like quilts, rug hooking etc) and must be representative of the work you intend to sell at Council sponsored fairs/events.

If you would like to partake in the next Jury Process:

  • 1. You must first read the standards for your medium and the general standards as they apply. **Link to the Standards Booklet here.**

  • 2. If you have questions regarding your medium:

  • email the peicraftscouncil@gmail.com
    Subject line: Jury Application
    and provide us with a short description of your craft and attach pictures. We can advise if we need other information.

    3. Fill out the Jury Application Jury Application Form printable or fillable form following these instructions.

  • 4. Drop off your 3 items at PEI Crafts Council Office:
    Items***
    (3 items of each medium you are currently working in, which you would like juried) Please be selective and bring your best items. Do not bring extra items, they will not be juried.
    ***We are no longer juring Fine Art. Fine art includes, painting, ink, mixed media, photography, digital art.
    Include your BIO and Jury Application form at drop off, unless it was submitted online.

  • 5. drop off dates - April 21-28th* for the May 1st Jury
    September 21-28th* for the October 1st Jury

  • *Items will not be accepted before or after those dates. Drop off is subject to current Office/Gallery hours. No exceptions.

  • 6. You may pay the Jury payment in store when dropping off your 3 items ($23).

***Fine Art Submissions
At this time, we are NOT accepting new Fine Artists for the Retail Gallery. If you are interested in selling at the PEICC Christmas Craft Fair as a Fine Artist, please contact the peicraftscouncil@gmail.com for details.
