Hutchinson Pottery: Jessica Hutchinson
Jessica Hutchinson is a full time studio potter living and working in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Her work focuses on producing strong, functional stoneware pottery that echoes the islands unique landscape through subtle gestures, marks and colors.
Her interest in the handmade object began at a young age in her mother’s weaving studio and further developed after receiving a diploma in Clay at The Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, British Columbia. Today Jessica continues to sell her work at her studio and shop in Oyster Bed Bridge PEI while participating in local art shows and artisan fairs. Her work has been presented with awards and grants and most recently, she has had work published internationally in the book “500 Teapots”. She takes great pride in being a maker of objects that people use and treasure in their day to day life.
