Sion Irwin Childs
Sion Irwin-Childs is a critically acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, primarily focused on creating dance-based work alongside photography, illustration, writing and sculpture. Mr. Irwin-Childs has an MA from York University: Toronto in Dance and an Honours BA in English from York University: Toronto.
Using a variety of photographic mediums including, but not limited to, medium format film, 35mm film, and digital capture, Sion explores narratives, documenting physical reactions to emotional states. Absorbing his surroundings, Sion explores the somatic connection between mind, body and spirit; the interzones between the "nowness" of now and the ethereal realms of memory. As a choreographer, performer and published author, Sion has toured extensively. His books, illustrations and photographs are in libraries and personal and private collections both nationally and internationally.
